The Suede Jacket Course

Join us for a three part luxury sewing course in our cosy atelier in the heart of Zurich Old Town.

Taking place across three consecutive Thursdays, this course gives you the time and guidance to create a beautiful suede jacket that is completely personal to you.

Choose from a selection of suede colours and weights, then customise the design by selecting your preferred length, with the option to create a cropped jacket or a longer silhouette. You can also choose whether to add a collar, pockets and either buttons or a magnetic closure. You are very welcome to bring your own special buttons to make the finished piece even more personal.

The course is suitable for complete beginners, as well as experienced sewers who would like to build their confidence and learn how to work with leather and suede.

Class One

During the first class, you will try on our sample jackets in sizes XXS to XXL to find the best fit for you.

You will then choose your preferred suede colour and weight, decide on your design details and prepare your pattern pieces.

With guidance, you will draw around your patterns, cut each piece from the suede and clip the jacket together in preparation for the next class.

Class Two

The second class begins with an introduction to the sewing machine and the techniques needed for working with suede and leather.

You will practise stitching on spare pieces of material before beginning to sew the main jacket sections together.

With step by step support, you will start building the structure and shape of your jacket.

Class Three

The final class is focused on finishing your jacket beautifully.

You will work on details such as hemming, pockets, collar construction and your chosen fastening. This is where the individual design choices come together and your jacket becomes a finished, wearable piece.

All materials, equipment, refreshments and guidance are included. No previous sewing experience is needed.
